Many apologies for the failure to update the website recently and also for slow (very slow) progress in answering those of you who have contacted us by email and through the contact form.
Groups like ourselves rely on committed people to give of their time and often that is in short supply. We try to keep the blog up to date, but this site has been neglected of late.
The Friends of Blacka Moor began when we perceived that Blacka Moor was under threat and we do not believe that threat has abated. All valued natural spaces need determined people to be vigilant on their behalf. We do not see Sheffield Wildlife Trust as that form of group. In fact to a significant extent they are the problem and this makes our role even more difficult. Members of the public who know nothing of the recent history of events here will probably consider that Blacka Moor must be safe in the hands of a wildlife trust. It is part of the reason for this website existing and for the linked blog that we believe the opposite is true. And we are lovers of wild countryside and all things natural!
We are considering re-launching our campaign which started in 2005 with the petition against the changes to the Graves Covenant.
If you would be interested in meeting with us either on Blacka Moor itself or at an indoor venue please make contact. Any help or support however small would be very welcome.
